The purpose of this site (so far) is to present electronic music to a willing audience and to list electronic events (local and continental).

What genres of electronic music will be covering?

First Answer:
I have found that Austin, Texas, actually America, is a bit oblivious to the vast majority of stuff out there. I won’t divulge into a diatribe on terrestrial radio. We will take the broad approach and cover a lot of different styles. Many people out there don’t know (and don’t care to) what all the sub-categories of music are. So trying to categorize a site that way can just confuse the casual user. Fortunately there is so much interesting stuff out there. Anyone that really enjoys music should satisfied. We will jump around in history a bit so consider this an education. If anyone out there wants to start a very specific page dedicated to say house or electro-clash, then I’d be interested in sub-hosting it. Kinda like a philip sherburne. Only unknown and with no regard to copyright law.

Second Answer (if you like sub-genres):
This site will specialize in micro-house, minimal techno, dub, detroit, ambient, house, idm, electronic, rocknrave, electro-house, indie hip hop, indie electro-pop, synth pop, drumNbass and a bunch of other things that fall under the category of electronic music. Once again, if someone would like to be a specialist in any one area, hit us up.

So, this site will list ELECTRONIC live shows and dj sets when they hit Austin, TX. Austin has no dedicated listing for all the electronic things that come thru here so I finally decided to do this. Other forms of music (rock, country, folk) are well represented here by other fine publications (Chronicle, Austinist). This blog is meant to shed light upon a narrow slice of the live music events that occur in Austin.

Wanted: editors and authors for this blog. Must demonstrate a knowledge of…well…stuff that is electronic.

Also Wanted: If your a promoter, act or dj and you fall into the said categories then let us know about upcoming events. Currently I don’t support recurring events (I haven’t found the wordpress plugin that supports it). The more I think about it though, this might be a good policy. Regardless, you will need to repost weekly, if you have a weekly.
