Show starts at 9pm
no cover
even though i was tired from the previous night of drinking and my vehicle was towed. more on that later.
john has pictures.
i have no working relation with this event, this isn’t self promotion. i am friends with the DJs though. regardless, these events are one of the best chances you’ll get to let loose and dance (excluding 2-stepping) at a club in austin. besides the music, the main reason for frenzy may be that the crowd is so into it. very very unusual for texas. also, there is actually a dance floor. strange indeed.
sara needs to post some of the tracks they were playing.

artist: jorg burger genre: pop ambient
it was gloomy when i woke, this song fits that weather. the term “pop ambient” feels like a contradiction, especially if you think about what is currently considered pop. any, all of the comps that go by that name are excellent, some ambient, some idm and some mellow techno.

artist: eliot lipp genre: instrumental idm hip hop
this is fun, i hear a bit of goblin influence over the entire album. not so much with this track though.
ok, so this is more goblin:
artist: oxia genre: cause to be happy
couldn’t do it better myself.
also, this saturday is the night to go out. highly recommended. really. much better than washing your hands repeatably and watching TV.
artist: my my genre: minimal house
like the straight pitch offset chords.
i made my bi-annual trip to mall to get some things. needless to say, i’ll be very happy if i don’t see any more tweens for a while. or hear anymore young whiner rock. why is every song on the radio the same chord progression? why are bands still covering joy division (badly)? why is every lead pop rock singer really awful? autotune and vocoders can only fix so much, this i know.
conform, listen to instrumental music!
My Radio - close myspace, it sucks the life out of me. no really.
